Rookie Lifeguard Programme

If you are under 14, you can take part in our Rookie Lifeguard Programme - future Lifeguards learning surf skills and patrolling skills for 12 and 13 year olds.

Rookie Lifeguards are provided with ten hours of training and then assigned to a patrol. Once in a patrol a suitable mentor will be assigned to you to ensure your ongoing development.

When you turn 14, you can then complete your training to become a qualified   Surf Lifeguard and take advantage of other opportunities to further your Lifeguard training in first aid, marine VHF radio certificate, IRB crewperson, IRB operator, instructing, advanced lifeguard award as well as competition and coaching so that you can reach your full potential.
