Waimarama Surf Club Patrols are rostered Saturdays, Sundays and
public holidays from the first weekend in November to the second
weekend in March. Patrols times are as follows;
- Saturday - start at 12.00, finish at 5.00 pm
- Sunday - start at 10.00, finish at 5.00 pm
- Public holiday's - start at 10.00, finish at 5.00 pm
In addition regional guards will be patrolling during week days
through late December to mid January.
Please follow instructions of the lifeguards on patrol. Remember
to always SWIM BETWEEN THE FLAGS.
Please note that during winter, there are no patrols at
Waimarama.
If an emergency situation arises when no lifeguards are present,
dial 111 and ask for Police
Lifeguard patrol transport to the beach
Waimarama Beach is situated some 30 minutes south east of
Hastings. The club has two vans that provide transport from their
Hastings club rooms at Windsor Park, Hastings out to Waimarama each
weekend for patrol members FREE OF CHARGE!. The vans leave Hastings
and complete a pick up in Havelock North outside the Four Square in
Te Mata Road. On the return trip it repeats this route.
- Saturday - Van leaves the town club rooms at 11:00 and picks up
in Havelock North at 11:15
- Sunday - Van leaves the town club rooms at 09:00 and picks up
in Havelock North at 09:15
The van will leave the beach for the return trip at
approximately 5.30 pm Patrol members are advised to text parents
during the trip into town so that they are aware of the pick up
time at the drop off locations.
